One of my all time favourite ATV series was 'Clayhanger'. Is anyone else here old enough to remember it?

Anyway, for anyone interested, here are scans of the TV Times special published to promote the series.

And here are scenes from Clayhanger.

Fantastic stuff Stuart!

I have this TV Times special, but the pictures from the actual programme are brilliant.

I'd love this to come out on DVD. You just know Network will bring this out (well here's hoping anyways!)

Yes the hope is that Network or Acorn will bring it out on DVD. Time will tell but I'm not overly hopeful.

Oh god I hope Acorn dont do it, they will rip bits off as they usually do!

At least with Network they put all the idents and endcaps/adcaps on if they are in tact.

Hello Folks,

As far as I am aware Clayhanger was never repeated unless someone knows otherwise?

I recall watching it as an 11/12 year old back in 1976. Loved it.

Bye for now,

Paula

A real gritty show set in the Potteries! Would have ticked a few boxes for ATV with the IBA! We were studying the Clayhanger books at school at the time, so it was perfect for our revision. I presume the show still exists??

Thanks Stuart. A shame that so much ATV drama from the 70's like Clayhanger is not given a run on say ITV3.
Edward the Seventh, Father Brown, The Strauss Family, Disraeli, and Will Shakespeare all come to mind for a start, as they gather dust in the vaults. Presumably no deal can be or has been struck over the rights. What a shame as it would great to see some new archive material on the box. An old question I'm sure , but who has the rights to these ATV productions?? I did notice some time ago that Edward the Seventh could be watched on the ITV website.

Excellent news. Will make an order.
As a side issue, I live in Spain these days, and spinning through the channels last weekend, found a Spanish regional station showing "Father Brown", with the tones of Kenneth More dubbed into Spanish!!
